Two exhibits will open at the Galleries of Quiet Waters Park on August 27 and remain through October 5, 2025. In the Willow will be the Annapolis Art Cooperative, a new organization of more than a dozen artists. Their art is represented in a variety of media including acrylic and oil, watercolor, photography, mixed media/collage, jewelry, woodworking and pottery. Their other works may be viewed at the Annapolis Pearl Gallery, 32 West St. on Annapolis.
In the Garden Gallery will be the “Havana through Cuban Eyes,” by Peter T. West. He learned and practiced street photography under a Cuban native photojournalist and teacher and then traveled with him to Cuba. They spent hours at sunrise and sunset taking photos in the Cuban Capital of many sites and everyday people in the context of their homes as well as the architecture of Havana itself and the rural town of Vernales. Mr. West is a lifelong Annapolis resident and a recently retired spokesman for the U. S. Antarctic Program.
The Opening Reception is September 14, 2025 from 1:30 to 3:30 in the Visitor Center, home to the Galleries. The Center is open from 9 – 4 on Weekdays and 10 – 4 on Weekends.
