BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPLICATION

BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPLICATION

The Friends of Quiet Waters Park is a dynamic not-for-profit corporation with a strong and knowledgeable Board of Directors.  Our mission is to promote the programs and infrastructure of Quiet Waters Park and engage with businesses and the community to support and raise funds for multiple initiatives to accomplish this mission.

Applications are reviewed and voted on at a Board Meeting.  All Board members serve for a two-year term.  Terms are staggered depending on at what time during the Fiscal Year the individual joins the Board.  Multiple terms of service are common.

Below is the Board Nomination Application Form which can be filled-in online or mailed to: The Friends of Quiet Waters Park, c/o Nominating Committee, 600 Quiet Waters Park Road, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD BOARD MEMBER
A successful Board member will first and foremost have a strong familiarity with, and deep interest and caring for, Quiet Waters Park. The Friends of Quiet Waters Park (Friends) does not maintain paid staff so Board Members should be willing to devote time and energy to take on activities, projects, and programs in conjunction with Park staff, other Board Members, Committee Members, and volunteers to benefit the programs and infrastructure of the park. This may involve significant (but rewarding) contributions of personal time.
