Who is Jon and why are the Friends desperately looking for him? A tippy kayak is not the optimal way to work on the large pond’s two fountains near the Visitor Center. Nor can the sloped shoreline plantings and grasses be safely trimmed by the park’s horticulturalist staff from either land or a kayak. Please help us find a gently used aluminum “Jon Boat,” which is a simple flat bottom two-person boat with room for gear. It can be rowed or have a small motor attached. Know of any boats looking for a new mission of usefulness? Have any leads on where we can get such a donation? We can arrange to pick it up if necessary.
